Blackpool and the Fylde College

Blackpool and The Fylde College has been working very closely with Next Generation Media Group since August 2011 to provide Creative Industry Apprentices in the workplace; achieving a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) based on agreed standards of competence and skills. The Apprentice's spend most of their time at work and attend College to learn the theoretical and academic aspects of the media trade and adding to their developing skills.

Next Generation Media Group has shown a professional and engaging interest to the Apprenticeship scheme with their 'grow your own' approach. They are keen to recruit and mould the next generation of company managers keeping alive the skills that UK commerce and industry rely on. This resulted in them winning the 2012 Creative Industry Employer Award at our annual Apprenticeship event.

We hope to continue working closely in partnership with Next Generation Media Group as they continue to expand and look for new ways to enhance the quality and efficiency of their workforce.

As you know, we first came into contact with your company when you gained the contract to supply bereavement books on behalf of our local registrars. We thoughts this was a very good idea and a prime opportunity to advertise our services to our local community. From the sample brochures I have seen from other council areas the thing that strikes me is how colourful and user friendly they seem. We feel they will be a great asset to recently bereaved families to help guide them through all of the decisions they are faced with upon losing a loved one. All of the information is laid out in a sensible manner with quality adverts of various local businesses in between. We had no hesitation in signing-up to be in our local brochure and have since gone on to book space in a neighbouring registrar's brochure with the possibility of further insertions in the future.

With respect to the web-site, this is something I have only seen briefly, but I was impressed by the sample site that Philip showed me, and although we are a company in its fourth generation of family ownership and have been around for over 130 years, we are always happy to keep an eye on new ways to reach out to bereaved families and offer our services so that we may assist them with the sensitivity, guidance and care we have been providing since 1881.

So far I have been impressed by the services provided by Philip and the other people I have come into contact with from your company and I'm sure we will continue working together in future.
